Who are we?
Costa Architecture was born in Popoyo, on Nicaragua's Pacific Coast. Founded by architect María Costa, the studio specializes in tropical residential and commercial projects for international clients looking to build, invest, or develop in one of Central America's most promising coastal destinations. Every project starts with listening — understanding how each client wants to live, work, or grow their investment in this landscape.

About María Costa
I am María Costa, an architect trained at the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina. I arrived in Nicaragua ten years ago with the intention of exploring new ways of living and designing. Over this time, I have learned about local materials, the construction dynamics of the area, and the cultural richness that defines each project.
My approach is based on the functionality of spaces and a constant dialogue with each client. I hold personalized meetings to understand their needs, desires, and lifestyle, translating them into coherent and sensitive architectural solutions. I am passionate about working with local materials, integrating the technical with the sensitive and the aesthetic with the practical.
As a synthesis of everything I have learned during my travels around the world, I founded Costa Arquitectura: a studio that reflects my way of understanding design as experience, as listening, as transformation. Each project is born from a sensitive perspective, always inspired by nature.
For me, architecture is that: a way to build with meaning, beauty, and respect for the environment.

How we work
Costa Architecture guides each project through a clear four-stage process: from the initial design concept and engineering drawings, through the official approval process with City Hall and MARENA, all the way to construction start. Every stage involves regular client check-ins, so you always know where your project stands — whether you're on-site in Popoyo or managing remotely from abroad.
